Renae and Zachery

Renae and Zachery knew each other for years as colleagues, but after they both left their jobs behind they looked forward instead of back – and found twin souls in each other. Their whirlwind romance brought two families together in a beautifully simple ceremony followed by intimate celebrations behind Renae’s parents Mittagong home. This is the epitome of backyard wedding!

Being April, Autumn was in full swing in the Southern Highlands, and yet it was still warm – in part thanks to the wonderful small crowd attending sending all their good vibes to our couple. Renae’s parents beautifully maintained cottage with wrap-around verandah was a perfect little spot for our emotional first look. Our mini-pre-wedding-portraits shoot took place immediately after the first look, with the future newlyweds enamored by each other and swept up with emotion, nerves and passion.

The power-couple proved to be unstoppable on this day, and not even laryngitis could stop heartfelt vows, commitments and expressions of their hopes of the future, and the joys of the now. We did our family photos just after the ceremony and made a little more time for a couple of snaps to take advantage of the low afternoon glow in the sky.

Amongst the excitement of the afternoon as guests mingled, we were able to have a miniature first dance on the deck while serenaded by Kate Young. While it wasn’t meant to be their official first dance – it did not stop everyone from looking on with smiles and cheers, which made for some beautiful moments.

Their evening continued into the night under the amazing boho tipi from South Coast Tipis.
