Brittany and Adam

Ceremony: Old Wollongong Courthouse
Portraits: Flagstaff Hill and North Wollongong Beach

If I had to pinpoint a moment in time where I fell in love with what I do and knew I wanted to do it forever – it would be at approximately midday, 30th May, 2018. Coincidentally, this is also around the same time I got to capture Brittany and Adam tie the knot in a small and intimate Old Wollongong Courthouse Wedding.

Back then, the walls of the interior were a lovely salmon colour; not sure of the motivation for that design, but it did bring out the roseyness in Brittany’s cheeks as she exchanged vows with her new husband, with only around 20 people watching.

It went by quickly, as you are only allotted a 30 minute chunk of time to complete your ceremony and take pictures before the next set come in, so we moved on to Flagstaff hill up the road to take some quick snaps with family before they celebrated with a lunch at a nearby restaurant.

While this was underway, a quick and dramatic storm passed through Wollongong, painting the sky with some astonishing licks of colour and saturating the ground, so by the time sunset was due to roll around, the colours were rich in both the earth and the sky, and we continued our portraits session to the backdrop of some of the most stunning and remarkable beach landscape I’ve ever gotten to shoot to this day.
