Sakura Sakura

Life is fragile and beautiful, like the flowering season of the Japanese Cherry Blossom in the early Spring.

Sakura Sakura¬†is a series of photographs named after the Japanese folk song of the same title, which was one of the many to be played to the backdrop of the Cherry Blossom Festival in Auburn’s botanical gardens in New South Wales. The song is played with traditional instruments such as the Koto or the Shakuhachi.

Sakura Sakura is an exploration of the fragility, warmth, beauty, and delicateness of life as depicted through the traditions of the Japanese springtime Cherry Blossom season.
